TSAR is a member of the Appalachian Search and Rescue Conference Inc. in Charlottesville Virginia. As of November 1999, TSAR was granted an MOU with the Commonwealth of Virginia, the first steps to extending our operational area into North Carolina. We provide incident command, staff and ground search resources for lost person searches in both wilderness and urban settings and downed aircraft throughout Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Our members are trained in technical and semi-technical rescue, search tactics/techniques and land navigation to accomplish this mission. Our membership is made up of professional men and women like yourself. We have among our membership, military personnel, engineers, technical, government personnel as well as professional and volunteer firefighters, managers, laborers, etc. All it takes to be an active member of TSAR is a willingness to help others and a love for the out of doors. When, where and how often you respond is totally up to you.
